CompareQuotes.co.za is a South African insurance comparison marketplace. We are the responsible party for the personal information you submit through this website.
What we collect
- Contact details: name, email address, mobile number and province.
- Quote details: the answers you give in a quote wizard, such as cover type or vehicle year.
- Technical data: pages viewed, device and browser information, collected via Google Tag Manager.
Why we collect it
We use your information to match your request with relevant, regulated South African insurers and to let those providers contact you with a quote. We also use aggregated, non-identifying data to improve the service.
Who we share it with
Only the insurance providers and authorised brokers relevant to the category you chose, and only after you have given explicit consent on the quote form. We never sell your information to unrelated third parties.
How long we keep it
Quote requests are retained for as long as needed to service your enquiry and to meet South African record-keeping obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
Your rights under POPIA
- Ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete your information.
- Withdraw consent and opt out of provider contact at any time.
- Object to processing, or lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Tag Manager and analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser settings; core comparison features will still work.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and access to quote data is restricted. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards.
